The pursuit of the ultimate Minecraft speedrun experience has led to the discovery of meticulously crafted seeds designed to accelerate players toward defeating the Ender Dragon. These carefully selected worlds, particularly for Minecraft version 1.20, offer immediate access to crucial resources and structures, minimizing travel time and maximizing efficiency. This compilation presents 30 of the most advantageous seeds, each providing a unique pathway to the Nether and the End, streamlining the journey for aspiring speedrunners.

The allure of speedrunning in Minecraft lies in its blend of strategic planning, resource management, and precise execution within a procedurally generated environment. While luck plays a role, the selection of an optimal starting seed can dramatically influence the potential for a record-breaking run. The seeds highlighted here are characterized by their proximity to essential game mechanics, such as ruined Nether portals, villages offering valuable loot, and strategically placed Nether Fortresses and Strongholds. The objective is clear: to reduce the grind and maximize the time spent on progression, from establishing a Nether portal to locating and activating the End Portal.

30 Best Speedrun Seeds for Minecraft 1.20

Leveraging Minecraft 1.20 Speedrun Seeds for Enhanced Progression

Speedrunning in Minecraft is a discipline that thrives on exploiting game mechanics and world generation to achieve objectives in the shortest possible time. For Minecraft 1.20, the introduction of new biomes and features has also influenced seed generation, making the search for optimal speedrun seeds a continuous endeavor. The seeds compiled here are designed to bypass many of the common early-game challenges, such as extended exploration for resources or the construction of essential structures from scratch.

Iron Blacksmith with Ruined Nether Portal: A Fortuitous Combination

One of the most sought-after scenarios for speedrunners is the presence of a ruined Nether portal integrated with or in close proximity to a village. This particular seed offers a Plains Village where a ruined Nether portal has organically fused with a Blacksmith’s house and another dwelling. The immediate benefit is twofold: the ruined portal’s chest often contains a flint and steel, essential for activating the portal, while the Blacksmith’s forge provides a source of iron, crucial for crafting a bucket. This allows players to easily create their own Nether portal or repair the existing one, bypassing the need to mine for obsidian or search extensively for flint and steel.

30 Best Speedrun Seeds for Minecraft 1.20

Furthermore, for those who prefer a more direct approach, this seed features another ruined Nether portal that can be activated with minimal resources from its own chest. This portal’s destination is a Crimson Forest biome, conveniently located within 150 blocks of a Nether Fortress. This proximity is a significant advantage, as Nether Fortresses are the primary source of Blaze Rods, which are necessary for crafting Eyes of Ender. The challenge here lies in the fact that the nearest End Portal may start with no Eyes of Ender, necessitating a thorough collection of Blaze Rods to craft the required twelve Eyes.

Key Locations and their Coordinates
Blacksmith Village with Ruined Nether Portal: 131, 680
Ruined Nether Portal: -302, 817
Nether Fortress: -114, 66, 216
Plains Village 2: -455, 814
End Portal with 0 Eyes of Ender: -476, -37, 823

Two End Portals: Strategic Choice for the Final Push

The presence of multiple End Portals within a single seed can offer a strategic advantage, allowing players to choose the most favorable option for their speedrun. This seed provides a Plains Village featuring two Blacksmiths, a significant boon for early-game progression. The first Blacksmith offers obsidian blocks and iron armor, materials vital for Nether portal construction. The second Blacksmith provides food and precious diamonds, further accelerating resource acquisition.

30 Best Speedrun Seeds for Minecraft 1.20

With the necessary materials from the Blacksmiths, players can repair a nearby ruined Nether portal. Upon entering the Nether, the primary objective shifts to locating the Stronghold. This seed presents an exceptional opportunity with two distinct End Portals. One is situated to the southwest and is completely devoid of Eyes of Ender, requiring a full complement of twelve. The second End Portal, located to the northeast, is more accommodating, already containing one Eye of Ender. This provides a slight head start, reducing the number of Eyes of Ender that need to be found or crafted.

Key Locations and their Coordinates
Plains Village with two Blacksmiths: -490, -500
Ruined Nether Portal: -385, -556
Nether Fortress: -642, -653
End Portal with 0 Eyes of Ender: -1,481, -14, 298
End Portal with 1 Eye of Ender: 557, -24, -1,674

Desert Portal to Soul Sand Fortress: Expedited Nether Access

This seed is particularly attractive for speedrunners due to its strategic placement of Nether portals within a large Desert biome. Players spawn near a Desert Village adjacent to a ruined Nether portal. While optional, this portal’s chest can yield gold armor, offering some protection against Piglins in the Nether. The true advantage lies in the journey to a second Nether Portal, accessible across an ocean. This portal is partially buried in sand and, crucially, contains all the necessary components to be rebuilt and lit.

30 Best Speedrun Seeds for Minecraft 1.20

Activating this second portal transports players a short distance from a Nether Fortress. This proximity is a critical time-saver, as it allows for rapid acquisition of Blaze Rods. The associated End Portal is also partially prepared, containing one Eye of Ender. This means players only need to craft an additional eleven Eyes, significantly shortening the endgame phase.

Key Locations and their Coordinates
Ruined Nether Portal 1: -449, 271
Ruined Nether Portal 2: -1,139, -353
Nether Fortress: -179, 67, -46
End Portal with One Eye of Ender: -459, -19, -1,436

Ruined Portal to Nether Fortress: Streamlined Blaze Rod Acquisition

A recurring theme in effective speedrun seeds is the convenient access to Nether Fortresses, the vital source of Blaze Rods. This seed excels in this regard, featuring multiple ruined Nether portals. By looting the chests of the initial three portals encountered on the path to the Stronghold, players can amass enough obsidian blocks and a flint and steel to reconstruct a fourth ruined portal. This specific portal is strategically positioned to spawn players directly beside a Nether Fortress, eliminating the need for extensive searching within the Nether.

30 Best Speedrun Seeds for Minecraft 1.20

The immediate access to a Nether Fortress is a significant advantage, as it allows for efficient farming of Blaze Rods. The Stronghold itself is also relatively close to this Nether Portal. Furthermore, the End Portal within this Stronghold is already equipped with two Eyes of Ender, reducing the player’s reliance on Blaze Powder collection and accelerating the path to activating the End Portal.

Key Locations and their Coordinates
Ruined Nether Portal 1: 82, 81
Ruined Nether Portal 2: -306, 70
Ruined Nether Portal 3: -444, 844
Ruined Nether Portal 4: -985, 1,029
Blaze Spawner in Nether Fortress: -246, 61, 138
End Portal with Two Eyes of Ender: -894, -55, 1,083

Desert’s Functional Nether Portal: Resourceful Beginnings

This seed offers a compelling start, particularly for players who appreciate resourcefulness. Emerging from the Windswept Hill biome, players will encounter a ruined Nether portal that is remarkably close to completion, requiring only a single obsidian block. A hidden chest nearby provides essential components: obsidian, a flint and steel, and a piece of golden armor. The obsidian and flint and steel allow for the immediate repair of the portal, while the golden armor offers crucial protection against Piglins during the perilous journey through the Nether.

30 Best Speedrun Seeds for Minecraft 1.20

The primary challenge presented by this seed is the necessity to travel a few hundred blocks to reach the nearest Blaze Spawner within a Nether Fortress. Once sufficient Blaze Powder has been collected (a minimum of twelve is required), players can return to the Overworld and proceed to the closest Stronghold. The End Portal within this Stronghold is entirely devoid of Eyes of Ender, meaning players must craft a full set of twelve to activate it.

Key Locations and their Coordinates
Functional Ruined Nether Portal: 240, 66
Blaze Spawner in Nether Fortress: 398, 84, 340
Desert Village by Desert Temple: 321, -312
Desert Village above End Portal: 308, -908
End Portal with 0 Eyes of Ender: 323, -2, -962

Half-Complete Portal: Efficient Portal Construction

This seed presents an excellent starting point for speedrunners due to the proximity of a nearly complete Nether portal. Located close to Spawn, this portal is only missing four obsidian blocks. Two of these can be found in the chest adjacent to the portal. The remaining two can be acquired through the water bucket method, a common speedrunning technique, or by mining diamonds to obtain obsidian.

30 Best Speedrun Seeds for Minecraft 1.20

To progress towards the End, players will need to gather at least twelve Ender Pearls and twelve Blaze Powder from the Nether. The End Portal in this seed requires a full complement of twelve Eyes of Ender. During the journey to the Stronghold, players will encounter a Plains Village and at least one additional ruined Nether portal. These can serve as valuable sources of food and other useful resources before the final confrontation with the Ender Dragon.

Key Locations and their Coordinates
Ruined Portal: 126, 293
Blaze Spawner in Nether Fortress: 71, 65, 78
Plains Village: -380, 740
End Portal with No Eyes of Ender: -950, -3, 976

Three-Eyed Portal Beneath Plains Village: Strategic Stronghold Placement

A significant advantage for speedrunners is the proximity of the Stronghold to Spawn in this seed. Located a mere 700 blocks away, this Stronghold houses an End Portal that is partially activated, featuring three Eyes of Ender. Crucially, this Stronghold is situated directly beneath a Plains Village, offering convenient access to resources and a potential resting point. For Nether travel, a ruined portal a short distance from the village is recommended. This portal requires five obsidian blocks to complete, but a lava pool beneath it can be utilized for obsidian generation.

30 Best Speedrun Seeds for Minecraft 1.20
Key Locations and their Coordinates
Ruined Nether portal: -894, 285
Nether Fortress: 204, 65, 376
Plains Village: -811, 188
End Portal with three Eyes: -885, -22, 203

Path to the End: Expedited Resource Gathering

This seed is designed to streamline the early stages of a speedrun by placing crucial resources within easy reach. While traversing towards the Stronghold, players will encounter a village boasting a Blacksmith. The chest within the Blacksmith’s home is a valuable early find, containing a diamond and six obsidian blocks. These obsidian blocks are highly useful for repairing any ruined Nether portal.

The optimal strategy involves saving these obsidian blocks for a ruined Nether portal situated near a Plains Village. This portal’s chest contains flint and iron nuggets, enabling the immediate crafting of a flint and steel to activate the portal. Upon returning from the Nether, this Overworld portal will position players approximately 500 blocks away from the Stronghold, significantly reducing travel time. The End Portal in this seed contains one Eye of Ender, meaning players need to acquire only eleven more.

Ruined Nether portal: -1,089, -364
Nether Fortress’ Blaze Spawner: -677, 63, -139
End Portal with one Eye: -1,692, -33, -200

Plains Village Above Stronghold: Convenient Structural Access

Ensuring the presence of a functional End Portal within a Stronghold is a critical aspect of speedrunning. This seed alleviates that concern by guaranteeing that the closest Stronghold to Spawn possesses an End Portal. While this portal will not have any active Eyes of Ender, the Stronghold is conveniently located beneath a Plains Village.

Before reaching the village, players are advised to visit a nearby ruined Nether portal. The most advantageous one in the vicinity is nearly complete and provides access to the Nether approximately 200 blocks away from a Nether Fortress, further expediting the acquisition of Blaze Rods.

Nearly Completed Nether Portal: Minimal Portal Repair

This seed offers a substantial advantage for speedrunners by providing all necessary components for a swift progression. Players will encounter a Taiga Village and a ruined Nether portal early in their journey. The portal’s chest is well-stocked, containing sufficient obsidian to complete it and a flint and steel for activation. This allows for immediate travel to the Nether, placing players in close proximity to a Nether Fortress.

The Nether Fortress contains a Blaze Spawner, facilitating the collection of Blaze Rods. Players will need enough Blaze Rods for eleven Eyes of Ender, as the End Portal already possesses one active eye. This configuration significantly reduces the time spent on resource gathering in the Nether.

Stronghold Mountain: Proximity to Essential Structures

The ideal speedrun seed places all critical progression elements within a manageable radius. This seed delivers on that promise, locating everything needed to beat the game within 800 blocks of Spawn. The path toward the Stronghold is populated with two ruined Nether portals. One contains obsidian in its chest, while the other provides a flint and steel. Players can utilize the obsidian from the first portal to complete the second.

Upon entering the Nether, this second portal spawns players directly above the lava ocean, necessitating careful construction of a path to the Nether Fortress. After returning to the Overworld, a Stronghold with an empty End Portal will be found beneath a Taiga Village, all situated on the same mountain range as the Nether portal.

Island Stronghold: Expedited Nether and End Access

This seed presents a unique challenge and opportunity for speedrunners. The most advantageous ruined Nether portal appears before the village, requiring players to venture into the Nether with minimal resources. Fortunately, this portal leads to a Nether Fortress approximately 400 blocks away. The world’s nearest Stronghold, containing an End Portal with one Eye of Ender, is situated on an island to the east.

Key Locations and their Coordinates

Portal to Fortress: Dual Nether Portal Advantage

The convenience of this seed lies in its abundance of crucial structures near the spawn point. Players will find two ruined Nether portals, two Plains Villages, and a Stronghold all located within the Plains biome where they spawn. The strategy involves gathering resources from the first ruined portal and the Plains Village with a Blacksmith to reconstruct the second portal. This second portal offers direct access to a Nether Fortress, making Blaze farming exceptionally efficient. After acquiring the necessary Blaze Rods, players can proceed to a second Plains Village, beneath which lies the Stronghold containing the End Portal with one Eye of Ender.

Two Stronghold Seed: Multiple Endgame Options

This seed offers a distinct advantage for speedrunners by providing access to two Strongholds in close proximity to the spawn area. Players will spawn near a village, and a short journey to a Savanna will reveal a Nether Portal ready for immediate use. The two Strongholds are located beneath the continent. The seed’s primary recommendation is to target the Stronghold beneath the continent, as its End Portal already contains an active Eye of Ender, simplifying the endgame.

Simple Minecraft Speedrun Seed: Streamlined Progression

This seed is tailored for efficiency, allowing players to embark on a speedrun with minimal delay. Upon spawning, players will find a Plains Village complete with a Blacksmith. The Blacksmith’s chest primarily contains food, useful for early sustenance. From the village, a southwest journey leads to a ruined Nether portal adjacent to a Forest biome. The chest at this portal contains sufficient obsidian to repair it, making the trip to the Nether straightforward. The Stronghold, located southwest of Spawn, lies beneath a Plains Village and houses an End Portal that requires a full set of twelve Eyes of Ender.

Two Eye End Portal: Reduced Endgame Grind

This seed offers an immediate advantage with a Plains Village located right at the spawn point. After visiting the village, a short trek to a nearby Swamp biome will reveal a ruined Nether portal and a pool of lava. The Stronghold in this seed features an End Portal already containing two active Eyes of Ender. This significantly reduces the grind for Blaze Rods, as players will only need to gather enough for six additional Eyes.

This seed offers a significant advantage by placing an End Portal with two active Eyes of Ender less than 1,500 blocks from Spawn. This portal is located beneath a Plains Village that includes a Blacksmith. Before reaching this primary village, players should visit a Snowy Village that features a ruined Nether portal. This portal requires only a single obsidian block to become functional, making its repair a quick endeavor.

Savanna Blacksmith: Resourceful Nether Portal Creation

For players comfortable with the lava bucket method for creating Nether portals, this seed presents an engaging speedrun opportunity. Players spawn in a Forest biome and must travel east to a Savanna Village featuring a Blacksmith. The Blacksmith’s chest contains enough iron ingots to craft a single bucket, enabling the creation of a Nether portal. Building this portal near the village will generate one approximately 100 blocks from a Nether Fortress, facilitating rapid Blaze Rod acquisition. Subsequently, players can locate the Stronghold on the eastern edge of the Savanna, which contains an End Portal with one Eye of Ender.

Key Locations and their Coordinates
Savanna Blacksmith: 813, -313
Nether Fortress: 235, 64, -116
End Portal with one Eye: 1,216, -36, -853

Obsidian Blacksmith: Enhanced Nether Entry

This seed stands out as a particularly strong starting point for Bedrock Edition players. Upon leaving Spawn, players will find themselves in a Savanna Village with a Blacksmith whose chest contains six obsidian blocks. These blocks are instrumental in nearly completing a ruined Nether portal situated above a river. The final obsidian block will require the lava bucket method. This investment is well worth it, as the Nether portal leads to a Crimson Forest biome within 100 blocks of a Nether Fortress. Furthermore, the End Portal in this world already has two active eyes, minimizing the need to gather extensive Blaze Rods.

Snowy Village Speedrun: Expedited Fortress Access

Players will spawn in a Snowy Village adjacent to an almost complete ruined Nether portal. The portal’s chest contains a flint and steel, but players will need to craft the missing three obsidian blocks themselves. Upon entering the Nether, a Fortress with a Blaze Spawner can be reached by traveling approximately 400 blocks. The nearest Overworld Stronghold is less than 900 blocks away and contains an End Portal with a single Eye of Ender.

Lush End Portal: Aesthetic and Efficient Speedrunning

This seed uniquely combines the efficiency required for speedrunning with the visually appealing Lush Cave biome. Players will encounter two Nether portals, allowing for the collection of gold armor and obsidian. Rebuilding the second portal will lead to the Nether, positioning players near a Fortress. The objective then becomes locating the End Portal within the Stronghold to conclude the game. The End Portal in this seed is particularly advantageous, featuring two active Eyes of Ender.

Two Plains Villages with a Lava Pool: Abundant Resources

This seed offers exceptional starting conditions with two Plains Villages, each featuring a Blacksmith. A nearby lava pool and ample water sources allow for the easy creation of obsidian blocks for a Nether portal. In the Nether, a Fortress with a Blaze Spawner is conveniently located. The nearest Stronghold is less than 1,000 blocks from Spawn. However, its End Portal does not start with any Eyes of Ender, requiring players to craft all twelve.

Desert Speedrun: Enchanted Armor Advantage

Adjacent to Spawn, a buried ruined Nether portal requires only two obsidian blocks to complete. This portal is particularly valuable due to its chest containing a full set of enchanted golden armor. This armor provides significant protection in the Nether, allowing players to focus on efficiency rather than survival against Piglins. A Stronghold is located beneath a Desert Village within the same desert biome. This Stronghold’s End Portal lacks any Eyes of Ender, necessitating the collection of Blaze Rods for a complete set.

Starting Village with a Ruined Nether Portal: Minimal Portal Repair

For players seeking a speedrun seed that bypasses the need to construct a Nether portal from scratch, this option is ideal. It spawns players in a village with a ruined portal that requires only minor repairs. Upon activation, this portal provides direct access to a Nether Fortress abundant with Blazes, facilitating the collection of Blaze Rods. Afterward, players can proceed to the closest Stronghold to complete an End Portal that begins with three Eyes of Ender.

Snowy Speedrun: Convenient Stronghold Location

Snow blankets the landscape around Spawn in this seed. To commence the speedrun, players must locate a ruined Nether portal missing two obsidian blocks. One block is found in the adjacent chest, while the second must be acquired through crafting or exploration. Similar to other seeds on this list, the Stronghold is situated beneath a village, providing a safe haven for health recovery and supply gathering. Upon excavating, players will find an End Portal containing a single Eye of Ender.

Beneath this world’s Stronghold lies a Desert Village and a small lava pool. While a ruined Nether portal near Spawn offers an obsidian block and some resources, players will ultimately need to construct a new Nether portal using the nearby lava pool. Once this is accomplished and enough Eyes of Ender are crafted, accessing the End Portal beneath the village will be a straightforward task.

A lava pool is situated on the other side of the village, offering players the choice to repair the damaged portal or construct a new one near the lava. After completing tasks in the Nether, players can travel to a neighboring town to the west and dig down to find a Stronghold containing an End Portal with no active Eyes.

Next, players head into a Savanna to find a ruined portal containing a chest with enough obsidian to rebuild it. The Nether Fortress in this world is populated with Blazes, ensuring a steady supply of Blaze Powder. Fortunately, the Stronghold in this world offers a slight advantage, starting with three active Eyes of Ender.
